eCampusOntario Driving Digital Transformation in Ontario Higher Education
New Initiative Supports Ontario Universities, Colleges and Indigenous Institutes in Adopting Digital Learning with a Suite of Products, Services and Platforms
TORONTO, ON, March 9, 2023 — eCampusOntario has a new initiative to support colleges, universities and Indigenous institutes in driving forward digital transformation of higher education in Ontario.
“Now more than ever, digital technologies are being integrated into all areas of higher education,” explains Robert Luke, Ph.D., eCampusOntario CEO. “Higher education institutions responded early in the pandemic to shift in-person classrooms to remote learning. Now eCampusOntario members work collaboratively, intentionally introducing digital by design innovation that is helping to redefine the ways in which we support teaching and learning.”
The new suite of products, services and platforms enable educators and learners across Ontario to engage in rich, flexible and accessible digital learning experiences that promote access and career preparation. With these new tools eCampusOntario members can unlock the potential of digital learning priorities by:
- Adding to their digital learning choices with Open Educational Resources (OER) from eCampusOntario’s Open Library.
- Supporting academic teams with professional development for 21st century digital leaders.
- Accessing a suite of products, services and platforms highlighted in eCampusOntario’s Digital Transformation (Dx) Guides.
- Collaborating in safe testing environments to discover, pilot, review and adopt educational technologies.
The goal is to expand the capacity and quality of virtual learning in Ontario postsecondary education sector. It’s part of eCampusOntario’s support for the Virtual Learning Strategy funded by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities which has already funded over 450 projects.
